Fresh ideas for a brighter future.
Investing in our Community
Every tax dollar should work as hard as the people who earn it. The community deserves budgets that fund the services and infrastructure we truly need, projects with measurable benefits, and planning that accounts for future costs.
Decisions should be grounded in data and results, ensuring Lloyd grows stronger without wasting resources. Our town’s financial planning should include consideration for problems in the next year, 2 years, 5 years, and beyond.
Evaluations by engineers and experts are required to enhance our understanding of what can go wrong so we can figure out how to fix it before it happens.
A Future We Can Afford
The community deserves planning that stand the test of time—ready for everyday use, unexpected challenges, and the needs of future generations. Lloyd’s future depends on smart choices today.
I will prioritize investing in our neighborhoods by upgrading sidewalks, parks, and gathering spaces so families and small businesses thrive and enhancing safety on our roads so that more people can safely walk and utilize public transportation.
I’ll back projects that save energy and protect our land and water, encouraging renewable power, green infrastructure, and responsible growth.
By planning carefully and spending wisely, we can keep Lloyd vibrant and resilient for decades without losing the character that makes our town special.
Preserve, Protect, and Partner
Our farms, trails, and open spaces are the heart of our town’s character and way of life. I will call for a comprehensive evaluation of our land use and zoning code need to be conducted to safe guard the town from losing its character and quality of life to development that does not fit.
I will amend our zoning code, identify areas at risk for overdevelopment or mismatched land use and find solutions to protect the Lloyd we love.
Strong partnerships with Ulster County and open space groups help safeguard natural resources, enhance outdoor recreation, and ensure Lloyd’s beauty and working farms endure for generations.
Safe Roads and Smart Growth
The community deserves streets that are safe, efficient, and accessible for everyone—drivers, walkers, kids, and seniors. Roads and sidewalks should be well designed, crossings should be safe, and traffic should flow without creating hazards.
Growth belongs where our infrastructure can support it, protecting families and keeping Lloyd moving. Things need to change in our town ordinances and on our Boards to reduce the impact of increased traffic and prevent overdevelopment.
Transparency from Bids to Boards
Every major public-works project in Lloyd should pay New York State’s prevailing wage and supports skilled local workers.
For any project over a set dollar amount, I will require the town to review and, where cost-effective, adopt a Project Labor Agreement (PLA) to keep projects on budget and on time, guarantee fair pay and benefits.
I will open doors for local apprentices and training programs to work on town projects, helping our young people build lasting careers.
Development with a Purpose
The community deserves zoning laws that are clear and consistent, schools and parks shielded from high-impact uses, and development that aligns with our long-term vision.
Protecting health, safety, and the character of Lloyd should be a required part of the approval process. I will propose a moratorium on any new development until the zoning code has been updated to protect our town and our community.
